Is music something you turn to for relaxation, diversion or simply as a background to your trips? If so, this post is for you! I got together with singer/songwriter Lyonne, a fellow introvert and traveller, to put together some music that we hope speaks to both introverts and globetrotters. The result is a special collection of songs for travelling introverts.
Personally, I find there is nothing like listening to specific songs that remind me of certain trips or locations to put myself back into the travel mood. Music is also a must for long bus or train rides when I just need a break from the world and time to myself. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this.
Therefore, I was thrilled when Lyonne asked me if I would like a unique song list, specifically curated for travelling introverts or those of us simply dreaming of the next trip. Below, Lyonne explains why she chose these particular titles and what mood they evoke for her. As an Argentinian now living in Denmark, as well as a musician in her own right, her choices are as varied and interesting as travel itself. I hope you find something that you like – because I certainly did.

In Lyonne’s own words:
Dear Global Introverts,
I put together this playlist, thinking of special songs that would be a great match for travelling. I’m sure you’ll find tunes that will be great companions for those introspective moments of realization, those more energetic moments to accompany a steady walk, and even those that will make you wish you were always travelling and discovering new gems.
I’ve mixed up established artists with other maybe unfamiliar names. It is my hope that you will find on this playlist several new artists that could become potential favourites.
I’m so happy to share this with you, and I would love to hear if you have suggestions for other tunes you think should be included here.

SONGS FOR TRAVELLING INTROVERTS:
Paul McCartney’s New: I find this song extremely uplifting and energetic. A good way to get you going and opening up for new experiences and discoveries.
Michael Kiwanuka’s Cold Little Heart: this tune always inspires me, never mind the situation I am in. You could enjoy this while sipping a hot cup of coffee on a rainy day, or while you are walking in the woods. It will find its way to make an impact on you.
Of The Valley’s Italy: I am instantly transported into the scenery of pale-painted walls, a bit of a melancholy feel, and scents of cinnamon.
Sheryl Crow’s Every Day is a Winding Road: an inspiring tune for never losing hope and finding the right energy levels to get you through the days, no matter how hard they may seem.
John Mayer’s Waiting on the World to Change: a cool and relaxed tune, to help us cope and accept things as they are. Always found in this song a sense of comfort and support.
